Oh yes, forgot to mention in my last posting re poor Henry Vl, also in this book 'Royal Tombs
........." on Queen Anne Neville .....
The Great Chronicle of London (1530s) records that Anne was buried at Westminster south of
the high alter 'by the South dore that ledyth Into Seynt Edwardys Chapell'. A 16thc list of
Westminster burials also records her burial on the south side of the sanctury. Stow says she
was buried south of the Westminster vestry while someone called Crull claimed her grave
stood in the south choir aisle. In 1866 a lead coffin was discovered south of the high alter
but was not disturbed. It is unclear whether this is our Anne Neville or another Queen Anne,
Anne of Cleaves who was also buried south of the alter.
