I read a great article in yesterday's Daily Mail (p.58) about Arthur Capell, Baron Hadham, descended from Anne of Exeter and thus a cousin of Charles I. About to be beheaded on 9 March, he asked whether the same axe was to be used for him as his King six weeks
earlier.
