Today in 1495 Sir William Stanley was executed on the orders of the
man he saved at Bosworth, Henry Tudor, for saying if Perkin Warbeck
were indeed one of Edward IV's sons he would not fight against him.
Henry obviously was real popular!!!
Good riddance Willy!

It could be argued that William Stanley had a 100% record of loyalty
to whomever he considered the true heir of York.
T'was his brother Tom who was the really shifty one, changing sides
whenever the wind blew.
