I'm just about to start booking my holiday, the first event of which
will be a visit to Bruges for the Charles the Bold exhibition, on at
the Groeningemuseum from 27 March until 21 July. I picked up a
leaflet in Beaune (Burgundy) last year, when it was on in Bern.

I love it! He's called Karel de Stoute in Dutch. It would appear that
Duchess Margaret's crown from Aachen will be there, and the portrait
of her from the Louvre, plus his prayerbook, armour (not sure whose),
and a splendid mille fleurs tapestry.

I won't be able to report on it in time for anyone else to book a
visit, as we will be on our way off for a fortnight and won't be home
until it's over.

If you can't go, the catalogue costs 40 euro, and is available in
four languages. German and French have been on sale since last year,
English and Dutch are out in 2009.

Casimira and I plan to be there on Wednesday 1 July, and would be
delighted to meet other visitors for lunch / a beer / whatever.

Best wishes
Christine

I am going to see this at the beginning of July. It got rave reviews
in Berne. Bruges should be even more interesting since Charles' tomb
is there. Anyone who had the chance should try to see it.

Sincerely,
Sharon
