I think this is a fantastic idea, Brian. Maybe do mini-reviews of some classic books such as Paul Murray Kendall's 'Richard the Third', Sharon Kay Penman's 'The Sunne in Splendour' and Josephine Tey's 'Daughter of Time'. My first inkling that Richard III wasn't anything like Shakespeare painted him was from Penman's book, quickly followed by Kendall's book. Of course many more books have been written about Richard III, which hopefully a new group of people will be inspired to read once they have read any or all of these three.
Another resource you can point people to is the "To Prove a Villain" exhibit mirrored on line at http://www.r3.org/rnt1991/index.html (American Branch website).
