Follow-up to the Indie Book Awards

Follow-up to the Indie Book Awards

The Indie Book Awards presented the awards to all winners and finalists
at a cocktail/reception at the Plaza Hotel in New York City this past
Tuesday and my mate and I attended (we're an easy train ride away from
Manhattan). It was fantastic, and I met so many wonderful people:
authors, publishers, and agents. I even met one of the people who
reviewed my book and had the opportunity to speak with her after the
awards presentations. When I introduced myself, she immediately
remembered my book and said how much she loved it and could I send her
another copy since she had to give the one she reviewed up to another
reviewer. It turns out that she's a non-fiction agent for a prestigious
literary agency and wants to have one of her colleagues read my book for
further exploration. Got all my digits crossed, but this can't be
anything but good news for me and for Richard's reputation.

I'm ecstatic!

As all these exciting news happened while I was sleeping (1.30 in the night for us), I would also say that this is great news indeed, for you and Richard. But well-deserved, too. Fantastic!

Thank you Dorothea. I'm quite excited--now to hope something positive
comes of it. But at least I've got something to hope for. Joan
