I just learned of an ebook reader from Baker and Taylor: Blio
<http://blio.com/> . It runs on any PC, including netbooks and appears
to have the same look as the reader on the iPad (I don't have the iPad,
so I'm just going by what I've seen online and on TV). Blio allow you
to download free books from Google books (I just tried it and it works
nicely) and links to Goodreads (have yet to try it). I used the Blio
interface to get a book from Google.

correction: Baker and Taylor partners with Blio, as does Goodreads.
