I'm sorry to have to tell you that BBC Radio 4's obituary programme
carries an item on Bill White, osteologist and museum worker, who I
believe was a contributor to the Richard III lists who we haven't heard
from for some time.
The webpage says:
"BILL WHITE
Osteologist who has died aged 66.
When Bill White was made redundant after thirty years working as an
organic chemist, it proved to be a major turning point in his life. He
decided to turn his hobby of archaeology into a full time profession.
After taking a course in the study of human skeletal remains at the
University of London, he began his long association with the Museum of
London. Bill helped to found the museum's Centre for Human Bio-
archeology and became the first curator of its Wellcome Osteological
Research Database, cataloguing the extensive collection of human
skeletons from London's past. Bill's expertise earned him an
international reputation: the crime novelist Patricia Cornwell consulted
him on her plots and the artist Damien Hirst asked for advice when
producing his famous diamond encrusted skull.
Matthew spoke to Bill's wife Jenny and his son Roland, and also to
Bill's colleague Jelena Bekvalac.
Bill White was born 22 April 1944 and died 14 November 2010."
The programme is available on ListenAgain which, I believe, can be
accessed from abroad - <http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wdl79>
