I remember many years ago while at Keele University on an open university week finding a copy of George Buck's work on Richard III at the time I had tried many libraries to get hold of a copy and was not able to locate one.  So when in the library preparing for an assignment I found this book, I stayed until the library closed to read it as I was not able to lend it.

I still passed, but it is the overriding memory of the week.

Would be interested in anything anyone find about the man himself, he was certainly a man who was not afraid of independent thought.

Interestingly, I found a copy at the NYC public library on 5th Ave. but
I could only read it there and since I don't live in NYC, going back
wasn't all that practical on a regular basis. Later, I requested a copy
through the interlibrary loan ILL) system and I was able to get a copy
that I could hold onto for about four weeks. Not only didn't I have to
pay for train fair into the city, but ILL is a free service through my
library, which my taxes pay for. The book is very expensive, so next
time I want to see it, I'll request a copy through ILL.
