So much on that Tudor series we should all be celebrating today the 28th January, the anniversary of Henry VIII departure from this world!
I'va had a smile on my face.

However, the thought that it is also the birthday of his dad Henry VII spoils
the happiness somewhat!

Other anniversaries are the death of Charlemagne and that the Brits lost no time
after first arriving in Australia on 26 January 1788 by etsablishing their first
penal colony at Botany Bay two days later.

Cheers, Dorothea

I'm looking forwards to the next series with Edward VI romping naked with Jane Grey!!!
The after that it could be a naked Mary Tudor with Philip of Spain followed by Elizabeth romping with all her male favourites, one after another! What delights await....:-)

Let's hope that the makers of The Tudors don't come up with a series on Edward IV and Richard III; maybe they will employ Michael Winner as the Director who was fond of sex scenes in his films. In the case of Edward IV there should be plenty of opportunities for porn and Richard appears to have strayed from the path of marital relationships.

Edward II: the supposedly gay king, would be an even worse prospect.

Be careful, The Tudors could include Henry VIII's children, but maybe we will be spared a constant stream of sex: it gets a bit repetitive, given the fact that Edward, Mary and Elizabeth seem to have been unable to perform through expiring early or infertility.

We could have Shakespeare in the embraces of the Earl of Southampton.

There might even be a spin-of: the various sexual positions of the Tudors.

But, hopefully, not.

Richard
Given that the series is about as historically accurate as Shakespeare's Richard III, and that the success of that encouraged the Bard to write more history plays (admittedly prequels rather than sequels), then they might well do some more in the same vein. After all, the success of Keith Michel's "Six Wives of Henry VIII" led the BBC to commission Glenda Jackson's "Elizabeth R", with some of the actors (Katherine Parr, the Seymour brothers) re-appearing in the sequel.

Of course, the two bastards we know about for sure were from before he married Anne.

Strictly speaking children were supposed to be born in wedlock.

With Henry VIII there was a 2 in 6 or 1 in 3 chance of decapitation, but in must be said that Anne Boleyn was politically too controversial as a protestant and Katherine Howard in her affairs was asking for trouble.
