You are a wonder and ever helpful, Joan! I hope you're safe and dry in your "castle"! We know of some whose NY and NJ "moats" became like the River Styx.
And to Annette, Stephen, Beth et al. - The materials from the UK arrived on Friday. If I haven't previously thanked you for your contributions, I do so now! And it's always a grand day to see Richard's face peeping out of our mailbox.
Annette, the statue photos were lovely! And I'm so glad you posted them, Stephen; wondering how one does that (I've a couple of vintage pix I could share...). Knowing, now, the statue was relocated makes me feel a bit less disoriented, in re: the abundance of trees in the background. But I was saddened to think people had vandalized the sword, etc.
(Also, it seems as if Geoffrey's project is materializing; tell him, we'll definitely support, as I originally offered...just must figure out the most economical yet expedient means that doesn't come out of your pocket : ) in the interval. The results are sure to be beautiful; he is a gifted artist.)
Apologies to all if I've been under- or over-communicative, these past few weeks. The time around Bosworth is always, well, difficult.
And so to everyone and sundry (bonjour, Paul), a restful, extended weekend (Labour Day in the US)! No boar hunt in Chicago, but maybe some old-fashioned pork sausages on the grill. And there's always some corrupt Pol whose feet need holding to the flames. I feel certain Richard would approve; let us hoist a loving cup to his memory and to good fellowship, now as then....
Warm regards!
Judy
