I think there are several members of this group who have either read or are planning to read 'Satin Cinnabar' by Barbara Gaskell Denvil. Barbara wrote a post for our branch website explaining about her background and how she became interested in Richard III. Reading this made me enjoy the story even more (I'm reading it at the moment). Have a look on our branch website http://www.richardiii-nsw.org.au/.

A friend has bartered me a Kindle. While I wasn't actually planning on buying one, at least for a while (too enamoured of real books). Amazon is selling some books ONLY on Kindle; this way, at least, I get to read things I can't otherwise buy.
On the other hand, a lot of poorly written stuff may also slip through (a la Wikipedia; if anyone's interested, search for Richard III clothing and click on the site for Dion Clayton Calthrop; needs considerable "help" with facts, in re: Richard, even if the clothing info is spot on). Paul? Annette?

I think most Kindle owners loves real books! Getting published in real books is getting more and more difficult, with publishers cutting back all the time, and favouring "celebrities" over good writers. And it takes ages to get published, even if you are accepted by an agent or publisher first time (and very few are!)
Kindle-publishing makes sense for people who want to publish quickly, cheaply and with a hope of being read at all. Outstanding writers will be picked up by mainstream publishers if they are very lucky.
Cheers! Nina
