Melvyn Bragg's programme 'In Our Time' is devoted this week to the
'Battle of Bosworth Field'. The programme is invariably interesting and
informative - I knew Weir wouldn't be on, but I wondered about Hicks.
It turns out that the three participants are Anne Curry (Professor of
Medieval history at Southampton), Dr Steven Gunn (teaches British and
European History between 1330 and 1700 at Oxford) and Dr David Grummitt
(writing A Short History of the Wars of the Roses to be published by
I.B. Tauris in 2012).
It will be interesting to see what they have to say.
All the 'In Our Time' programmes - back to 1998 - are available on its
webpage <http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/in-our-time/> but I don't
know whether this works abroad.
