Ah, yes, this is the chap the media decided must be England's rightful king IF the allegations of Edward IV's bastardy were true. A big 'IF', of course. And how much checking was done on the legitimacy of this Aussie earl's antecedents?

That particular 'theory' infuriates me as well, Annette. The so-called
evidence that was collected is spurious and so easily overturned. I do get
tired of long dead women being insulted in this way. We've had Braveheart
and the nonsense about Edward II and Isabella's children; a recent novel
that has Simon de Montfort fathering Edward I; all the lovers Margaret of
Anjou supposedly had (on no evidence) and now this. Tony Robinson and
Michael Jones are not on my list of favourite people! Scurrilous rumours put
about 500 years ago for purely political purposes ought to be treated for
what they are scurrilous rumours put about for purely political purposes.
Not my man Warwick's most shining hour.
