It was announced on 11 July that Northampton Council intend to build sports facilities on the site of the important 1460 Battle of Northampton within the boundary of the EH registered battlefield (a day after the anniversary of the battle). As well as destroying local heritage and an important battlefield, it has wider implications for all English battlefields, and none will be safe if it is allowed to go ahead. A facebook page has been set up at http://www.facebook.com/#!/SaveNorthamptonBattlefield please like and share. A petition has also been set up at http://www.shout-louder.org/battlefield.html please sign if you can as soon as possible.

Thanks

Mike

I have signed Mike, it is important that we do not lose sight of the importance of our history, particularly to the tourism industry and for those that died.

Hope it helps.
Marion
