Richard's remains

Richard's remains

I've only just joined this group and don't know whether this has been posted before but I was wondering whether, if the DNA proves the skeleton to be Richard III, a facial reconstruction will be carried out.

I have always been fascinated to find out whether the portraits of kings etc actually reflect a true likeness and feel this will be a good opportunity for us to look on Richard III's face.

I appreciate though that many people will find this a tad morbid and disrespectful and that his remains should be reburied asap.

Well as someone has pointed out here before, we know what Richard looked like - to a degree at least.

Incidentally Lisa, any reply yet from Ms Gregory to your question about rewriting?  I suspect not .....

If they do, we'll be forced to accept that Richard, like everyone else subjected to frc, looked exactly like Patrick Stewart.

Maybe, if it can be done with a computer "simulation". I am quite sure that they will do some forensic exmination of his wounds and so they would have the dimensions of the head along with other procured data...
Probably not the old fashioned way they used for the Hunley people (the submarine, which has nothing to do with Richard III but was also a field of interest of mine), doing a replict with clay should be outdated by now I think.
