A Bit off the subject&.I was horrified to learn that Prince Charles was allowed to sleep with Camilla the night before his wedding. How completely disrespectful for everything basically decent in our societies. Who "allowed" this? I have totally lost any respect for Charles, the Royals or the rest of the bunch. Sorry to offend, but I AM offended. I just don't get it!

I think Camilla "allowed" it. I can't imagine it was anything to do with anyone else.

Lol Liz...I think you are right...He would have got away for it if it were not for those pesky photographers lurking in some bushes....
I know this is completely off topic but I would like add I think if things had not gone the way they did Diana and Charles would have made a marvellous King and Queen.....but there you go....:0/ Eileen

but it's not just charles and other royals who did/do this. some "leaders" of modern countries are quite imfamous for their philandering. jfk, roosevelt are two american presidents who strayed. it wouldn't take long to compile a very large list of our "top dogs".
british columbia's premier, Gordon Campbell. the one who was arrested in hawaii for drinking/driving. he was there with his pregnant mistress. the Gordon Wilson former leader of the same political party was caught sneaking around with another upper end political party member, Judy Tajabi (sp) both were married. Mr Campbell made it his "politcal" business to reveal this info. Campbell then used the "exposure" to parlay it into becoming the New Squeaky Clean leader of that polical party and the leader of my home province. Campbell is now a canadian envoy to the UK with a nice fat salary and loads of perks. Campbell's "affair" was never made fully public because of his "connections" to the media. however, a small independent newspaper revealed the story. campbell's neighbours however knew the story was true. i'm friends with a couple of them. small town gossip does flow..:-))
and the list can go on and on.

Carol (T) responds:
But are we sure that the charge is true? Just as we extend the benefit of a doubt to Richard, we ought to extend it to Charles and Camilla until the evidence is presented. Personally, I can't imagine the Queen giving Charles any such permission even though he was a man in his thirties at the time though, of course, I could be wrong.
By the way, Carol (D), may I ask you to supply a subject line for your posts? Yahoo won't let me respond to them without creating one. I guess it's because I don't post from my e-mail. Thanks!
