New (to me) Books from Amazon.ca

Hi, All -
What with all the talk about "Maligned King" and other books, I decided to
break down and order a few Ricardian books that aren't available for my
kindle e-reader. And at the same time, try not to spend a fortune, as I am
compulsive about buying books and overspend constantly for new goodies for
the kindle.
So here's what I ordered:
1)Elizabeth Peters, *The Murders of Richard III,* that is the popular
mystery which was recommended by Carol. I'm paying $1.15 + shipping for a
used paperback in very good condition. You can get it for $.01 in good
condition;
2) *The Yale Edition of The Complete Works of St. Thomas More: Volume 2, The
History of King Richard III* St. Thomas More, Author, Richard S. Sylvester,
Editor; Hardcover; CDN$ 38.55 + shipping for a used copy in good condition.
It's about half the price or even less than half of the other copies
currently for sale on Amazon. Actually you can buy a new copy from a third
party seller for as little as $70-something, but I thought I should be a
little bit frugal;
3) Annette Carson, *Richard III: Maligned King,* which is going for $16.26
for a new paperback from Amazon (free shipping); and
4) Robert Fripp, *Dark Sovereign,* paperback, new for $17.70 from Amazon,
free shipping. This book sounds like it could be quite cool - apparently
Fripp has countered the portrait of Richard in Shakespeare's play by writing
a play in Elizabethan English, the longest play written in Elizabethan
English, according to Amazon. OK, I don't know if it's any good; I'm taking
a chance on it, since I haven't heard of it before.

Oh, that is cool! It's a great idea to recreate *King Richard III* as it should have been. It sounds like something that would be ideal as an Audible audiobook.
I'll let you know when I get the books. They are coming from three different booksellers, so they may arrive at different times.
Nighty-night,

Brilliant list to my mind and love both Annette's and Robert's. I read More at my peril. His take on everything is bad for my health. Take care. Coral. By the way how is a kindle. I adore books and spend enough of my life on computers

for a new paperback from Amazon (free shipping); and
4) Robert Fripp, *Dark Sovereign,* paperback, new for $17.70 from Amazon,
free shipping.

Hi Joanne
A couple of books you might find useful are : Richard III A Royal Enigma by Sean Cunningham which is published by The National Archives. It contains key documents from the collections of the National Archives with transcriptions of the actual documents and some good colourful illustrations. The other book is Richard III A Source Book by Keith Dockray, which contains primary sources. This one might be out of print but you could probably get a second hand copy.

Thanks for the suggestions, Elaine! They sound like they would be very
helpful for filling in the details! I have a lot ahead of me, as like some
others here, I have been away from things Ricardian for an extended period
of time - and even when I was a member of the Society, I was much more of a
layperson than many of the members. Now I would like to become more
knowledgeable about all aspects of the period as well as about Richard in
particular.
Best wishes,
Johanne
