red hair…in today`s Royals…

Where does the red hair in todays Royal son come from? The Spencer Family is descended from an illegitimate offspring of Henry VIII&correct..?

If its Prince Harry you're referring to it comes from his father - James Hewitt.

Having two classic redheads of my own from my second marriage, after four
blondes/brunettes, I did some research. For my two, and other 'flaming'
reds, the gene needs to come from both parents. With other shades,
strawberry blonde and ginger (which Harry is) among them, the gene isn't
recessive. Up till then, I'd thought Harry's red hair a bit suspicious (and
it still might be, for all I know) but the Spencers carry the red gene.
Given Harry's shade of red, his mother carrying the gene is enough.
