Hi,

Anyone into experimental cooking? I am doing a research on medieval recipes and am looking for the MS Pepys 1047 texts. Can anyone tell me if they were ever published. It doesn´t matter if in old english or translated to modern english, but I´d prefer old english to improve my humple skills.
I would also be grateful for a recommendation of any other texts or books dealing with 15th century recipes.

I wasn´t sure if it was ok to post this topic in the group, but I thought it might and because there are so many experts it is most likely that anyone could help me.
Thanks.
Marion Z

Found these:

http://www.godecookery.com/pepys/pepys.htm

http://www.thousandeggs.com/msproj.html
http://oldcookery.com/trans/mspepys1047.html

I have a small library of medieval cooking, which I enjoy reading more than
imagining sampling (I have a very picky pallette). However, I do make a
simplified Hypocras, taken from _Fabulous Feasts_, which my sister-in-law,
in particular, enjoys.

I have a book on kindle called Medieval Cuisine (Food Fare Culinary Collection) by Sheenanchie O'Toole. Not expensive and very interesting.

Hi Anne,

Thank you, I´ll check if it is available in germany. It sounds just like the thing!

@Maria I found on gode cookery a mention of "Pepys at table" and even found a copy in some store. It´s sub-titled 17th century recipes but I think there might be also some older recipes as well.

Thanks for the support again!
