Hmm, I am not getting emails from this forum! So strange! Is anyone else having that problem? Other emails are coming in fine though. Maybe even Yahoo is finding my obsession unhealthy.....

Ishita, the Yahoo site is also acting up and has been for several days. Some of us have had trouble replying to messages, and I've noticed that several of my posts were delayed. So it's not you or your email (unless it's a Yahoo email account). it's just the Yahooligans being slow to detect problems with the forums and fix them. I should be nicer in case it has something to do with Hurricane Sandy.
In any case, I did reply to your post about George of Clarence and Richard. I should add that Richard as king wrote a letter to the Earl of Desmond implying that the earl's father had been murdered by the same people who murdered Richard's brother, George of Clarence. Many historians have interpreted this ambiguous statement to mean that Richard blamed the Woodvilles, particularly Elizabeth. Mancini (who, of course, is only reporting what his sources told him but may be correct) states that Richard "was so overcome with grief for his brother... that he was overheard to say he would one day avenge his brother's death." Since Richard, rather than openly falling out with the Woodvilles, returned to the North after George's death and later had civil dealings with at least one Woodville (Anthony, Earl Rivers), it's hard to say whether he really held them responsible, but he almost certainly protested George's execution and resented it bitterly.

Carol, Thanks. That Richard was not complicit in anyway in Clarence's death makes me happy
It seems so strange that in Shakespeare's play he was accused of killing Clarence. I mean, come on, there is a King on the throne. Poor Richard was also accused of killing Henry VI.....Makes me want to scream!
