Johanne Tournier
Hi, Eileen -

No mail today, because of the Remembrance Day holiday. Maybe tomorrow!

Actually I have suddenly gone "whole hog" (hmmm . . .) for Ricardian books.
Not only the Coronation, but I ordered a used copy from the US of *The Hours
of Richard III* (good cond. About $56) and the National Geographic book on
the Middle Ages (about $18 I think), which I remember from my youth as being
a splendid book. And from the Society website -

1) Harleian Ms. 433 (4 vols) - 25 pounds;

2) Festschrift edition Vol. 13 of the Ricardian - 7.50 pounds;

3) The Reburial of Richard, Duke of York - 4.00 pounds;

4) The Royal Funerals of the House of York at Windsor - 5.00 pounds;

5) Good King Richard? - 8.50 pounds;

6) Itinerary of Richard III - 1483-1485 - 4.00 pounds;

7) The Battles of Barnet and Tewkesbury - 10.00 pounds;

8) Richard III: Loyalty, Lordship and Law - 13.00 pounds;

9) Boar lapel badge in pewter - 6.00 pounds; and

10)New design round boar pendant with background Yorkist colors of murray
and blue - 14.99 pounds.

Oh, and I found a copy of *Under the Hog* by Patrick Carleton on the
Amazon.com website - hardcover, like new, for $55.00.

Can I afford all this? Not really - but since I only have to buy them once,
it seems to me it's a worthwhile investment. I'll be able to open my very
own Ricardian Research Library. <smiley>

Re: Coronation of Richard III (was RE: Canadian Glaswegian)

2012-11-12 21:43:45
Johanne Tournier
HA! I've got that presentation to finish by Wednesday (it's on
Unitarian-Universalism, btw) and even though I don't have any of the books I
listed below, I do have 47 books in my Richard III Collection on my kindle
(about 10 of those are just samples, though). I ordered new copies of my
favourite "hard core" Ricardian faves - *The Daughter of Time,* Kendall's
*Richard III,* *We Speak No Treason,* (but not *The Sunne in Splendour,*
because I've got that on my kindle.

Everything (such as it is) that I've got has been acquired since September.
You know what happened then - my birthday! <LOL> Actually - the discovery of
the remains of the Greyfriars Warrior, which was announced on my birthday.
Ah, fortuitous day!

There are two words that apply: "obsession" and "addiction." <smiley> But I
am making up for lost time - and I've still got a lot to learn!

Loyaulte me lie,

Johanne
