RIII story in the Washington Post 25 Nov 2012

Hi, All -
Hey, there are over 400 comments to this article on the project in
Leicester. The Washington Post is, of course, one of the major US
newspapers. There's some of the usual sensationalist ca-ca in the article. I
put in a comment on the timeline page, where they call Richard the Duke of
York (no surprise there), but there were a couple of laudatory reader
comments about *The Daughter of Time.* I'm thinking of tracking down the
blogger they quote at the end, Gareth Russell, who thinks we shouldn't be
"celebrating a child-killer." Ugh!

Don't even bother with any comment on the child killer statement as it would only add fuel to a dead flame
People that are prepared to educate themselves and have a open mind.

Perhaps complement him on his work and suggest further reading

Hi, George -
I didn't mention anything about the child killer comment or any of the dreck in my post to the Washington Post. Basically I endorsed that Tey's book was my introduction to Richard lo those many decades ago and that I've been a Ricardian ever since. And I pointed out that Richard was Duke of Gloucester for most of his life and never Duke of York.
I'm sure that you're right that if commenting on Mr. Russell's blog, well . . . you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, they say. I haven't had a chance to go look for it, but I'm sure it can be found fairly easily. Further reading, for sure, perhaps with one or two specific suggestions. <smile>
