In his book Mr Richardson has made an important point...something that prima facie may seem insignificant yet if had not happened might have changed the whole outcome of this story...That point being that Richard refused Buck's request to speak to him immediately before his execution. If only Richard had granted him an interview Buck's surely would have spilled the beans on the others involved in this plot against him i.e. Morton, MB and Stanley, the whole story. Thus Richard would have known the full truth and handled the conspirators much more harshly they he did. Of course in his book, Mr Richardson went into his theory in depth.....with an explanation of why Buck's rebelled against Richard which is quite extraordinary considering the giddy heights he had risen to under Richard's rule. It just goes to show that sometimes one's fate can turn on a sixpence.....:0/ Eileen

Eileen: I've been searching around for The Deceivers but have not had any luck - yet. But happily, I came upon the Yorkshire branch Richard the Third Society and sent them an email asking them where I might get a copy.

It's worth checking out this nice website because it has a great rendition of our Richard wearing a very becoming Santa cap. Snow is falling about him. So cute. Maire.
