It was 1978, when I read "We Speak No Treason" for the first time.
I've since been through a number of relationships, earned a college
degree, worked at eight different jobs, lost my parents, moved nine
times, but Richard has been the one constant in my life. I often tend
to believe, as was suggested elsewhere, that we knew Richard in a past
life. I can find no other way to explain the intense loyalty and
devotion we feel. What other common denominator is there for all of us?

I think that as another poster said, I was drawn because he got such a raw deal from history. And I have a really negative attitude towards Henry the VII and his awful son, Henry the VIII.
Also, I've always been drawn to soldiers in history. I've long followed the story of Joan of Arc, Richard, and the Confederate and Union generals of the American Civil War. Brave, intrepid and dashing figures. Maire.

when a red mist descends when you see or hear the still continuing maligning of this brave and caring king from people comfortably sitting in their armchairs over 500 years later who criticise and see badness in his actions but never proffer any alternative paths that Richard could have taken and/or his immediate family could have survived....Eileen

When you work on a mobile library, one of the customers is another Richard fan,and comes back to the bus with a stained glass window, and a plaster copy of Richard's seal, and a bagfull of magazines and cuttings to share.I bought a huge amount of his R books afterwards,

. . . or when you do read, you hope against hope there will be a happy
ending after all - and then you think, "Maybe the discovery of Richard's
remains will be our chance to give him that "one last, glorious Summer."
