I read [I think] somewhere that Richard did not sleep the night before the battle and that he was not ''himself'' tired etc., I do not think I have heard of his depression, I think IMO that he felt so frustrated at this ''usurper'' from wales, calling him out to battle for ''HIS CROWN'' and that on seeing Henry Tudor at the back of battle, just sitting on his horse, watching the battle surrounded by his personal guard, Richard's patience was lost and his temper took over causing him to ride to attack Henry, I believe that Richard had been fighting battles with his brother Edward since the age of 16, and was a fierce and brave warrior, I think on that day once Richard had lost his temper, he lost his throne, his dynasty  and his life.    I do not know what pulls me  towards Richard but to me he was a strong and noble man and in his reign was a good and fair King.      Liz
