Livery question

Hi, all. I'm editing a historical novel set in the Elizabethan era, but I suspect that some things hadn't changed much since Richard's time. I know that a nobleman's male servants wore his livery, but would the same be true of a noblewoman's female servants? The noblewoman in question is a duchess if it matters. If you can point me to an authoritative source, I'd appreciate it.
