There is a story of a bard in ancient Ireland who claimed guest-right of a king. The hospitality the bard received was so miserly that he composed a satire so scathing that, when preformed as a 'gift' to the king, the king promptly died of shame. This came to mind after several days reading the Society's library offering on Thomas More.
