Kings Council....
Kings Council....

I've been wondering about how much a 15th century king would be controlled or led by his Council if at all. Specifically with Richard how much guidance would he have received from his council and much was he obliged to take it if at all. Im asking this because I had a lightbulb moment...a ping rather than a Eureka moment...after I posted a message that Richard would have probably taken guidance about Edward and Richard's futures and the best way forward from his council. Or could he have made decisions on his own ...Because I was thinking that Morton and Stanley were on his Council....therefore they would have been aware of Richard's thinking even handing out advice.
It seems strange to me that Stanley who must have known a lot of what was going on does not seem to have kept his brother in the loop as he did not seem to know what had happened to the boys and is supposed to have said he would not fight Perkin Warbeck if he was indeed the son of EdwardIV...?
