I wrote this last week but forgot to send it.
14th April 1471 let's remember the dead, and that Richard Gloucester played
such a big part in the Yorkist victory while still a lad!

The battle of Barnet was fought today in 1471, when Richard was wounded
while taking actions which won the day for the House of York.
Remember those who fell.

14th April 1471 fought north of London at Barnet. Richard Duke of
Gloucester was wounded, Warwick was killed. A victory for King Edward
who acknowledged the fact that his youngest brother saved the day for
them during the confusion caused by fog.
Remember the dead.

Yes - but another 'if only' - if only these giants of men could have remained allies - what a
team they would have made.

But Warwick would never have been content with the back seat, would he?
Paul

The fog rises again and I'm back on Barnet Field, remembering.

True, and nothing would have deterred Edward from marrying into the Woodville clan with
all thats implications.
