series of scientific investigations into human remains - which are
possibly those of King Richard III.

inside story of the hunt for Richard III..

Also please note the following:

· The March Bulletin will be delayed by 3-4 weeks to allow
coverage and analysis of the tests results and the Channel Four
documentary. The issue will also carry colour photographs of the facial
reconstruction.
· There will be a special Bulletin Extra issued shortly after the
4 February providing all members with a summary of the test results and
a first glimpse of the facial reconstruction.
· The Bulletin Extra will also include details and a booking form
for a special Society conference to be held on the 2 March in Leicester.
This conference will be the first event following the test results to
focus on the impact of the dig on the reputation of Richard III.
Speakers will include Philippa Langley, John Ashdown-Hill, Annette
Carson, Toby Capwell and Caroline Wilkinson who was responsible for the
facial reconstruction. It will be chaired by the historian Chris
Skidmore MP and will also be addressed by the Mayor of Leicester Sir
Peter Soulsby. Get the date in your diary!

This basically surely means it definitely is Richard. A special extra Bulletin, a special extra conference, a new website launch: if the heads up to the Society bods was that it wasn't Richard, just some random medieval chap, none of this would be happening.

Let's put it this way: If all this were occurring 10-15 years ago, the case would have already been made, based on all the other evidence. Note how quickly they decided the female remains were probably Mistress Luenor's. But with the ultra-dependence upon things like DNA, it's become the accepted norm to add that layer to the research. An "inconclusive" result may be disappointing, but won't mean this isn't Richard....
