Hi all,
I've been trying to access the new Richard III website but keep getting the note that a new Richard III website is on its way.
Someone on here mentioned that the new website looks fantastic, so it must be up and running. Is it only me then, or is anyone else having trouble??
Thanks
Jacq (who's too excited for words at the moment!)

Suggest that you empty your history in browsers then try again as the site is up and running but you are loading old dats

It's up. I've only had a quick look but it looks fantastic at first glance. As someone who was somewhat critical of the old one, I think this is great.

I think it looks modern and positive but I can't find things that were on the old site: the library catalogue, for one. Perhaps I need to do more exploring on it. When my daughter was doing her A level essay on Richard, accessing what was in the Society library was really useful.
I wonder whether the new site was entirely done by the Society or whether it was an offer from the Uni of Leicester - very often universities offer their computing students to do projects for organisations: Durham Uni just wrote to my husband with such an offer. Anyway wherever it came from, I'm glad we have a sparkling bright new site for a new era.

The links are in the black box at the top of the home page: Home, About Us, Richard III, Richard's World, Events, Learn More, and FAQs. There are additional links in gray or red boxes, some of them related to the Leicester dig. I'm checking out the Richard section now. Can't bring myself to do anything not related to Richard today! I'm sure that your daughter will find plenty of material as she explores the site. She can also quite possibly go to the old site using the Wayback Machine: http://archive.org/web/web.php (If you're not American or weren't around all those decades ago, the name is "Rocky and Bullwinkle" allusion.)

Hi Jacq - the UK branch has successfully launched their new website here
http://richardiii.net/index.php & it looks great.
I'm the webmaster for the American Branch & our new website is almost ready
- & I apologise for the delays but am having cancer treatment so its a
little slower than planned. Hoping to get it done within the next few
weeks... & making ad hoc statements on the old site as best I can!
Will announce when it's ready.
Kind regards
Lisa

Hi Carol,
yes, I've explored many of the links in the black boxes but nothing obviously leads to the old "Library" of journal titles/book titles etc. (My daughter completed her assignment last summer so her essay is actually now in the Society's library - she got an A* for it.)

Thank you Lisa for this - I've seen the new site now and it looks amazing.
I hope your cancer treatment is going well - I know what a trial that can be.
