Thanks, Kay--
I try hard to get it right--and with genealogical tables in front of me now
instead of just "off the cuff." Most of my online mistakes seem to concern
modern times and the mispronunciation of current names of people and places, so
it's fun to retreat half a milennium back where no one can clobber me for
mangling their names.
I have family in Oregon, so I do get to visit once in a while--a second
cousin in Milwaukie, another relative in Corvallis, and many acquaintances in the
greater Portland area, including Tigard and Beaverton. I was there just last
year.
My commentary will disappear for 6 weeks as I take off to visit the Mother
Country, a deliciously insane joyride. It's a bit of a pilgrimage, as each
place has some connection to ancestors. I will miss the input of this group, as I
learn so much by just reading the postings of others. I look forward to
returning home to read 3000 emails!
