Re; Richards scoliosis degree&.I personally ride great distances and over extremely challenging terrain on fast moving spirited Arabian horses, for 3 or more hours at a time. Its called distance riding. Seeing the supposed degree of twist in Richards skeleton, Im not totally convinced his back was truly that twisted&.. in life. My back is straight and strong. He would have had to ride at a fast trot, which means posting or riding the sitting trot. This requires balance and strength. Since Richards mode of transportation over great distances in England back then, was the horse and riding is not a passive, comfortable endeavor, I simply can't accept his back being that twisted. I feel time will reveal a lesser degree of scoliosis. Any horseback riders in the Forum want to comment? Carol D.
