I was celebrating with King Richard himself in Middleham today - he and Anne were in residence in the castle grounds and he gave a worthy and noble talk about his history in the town and in the north. He looked happy as he was speaking from 1483 - he was looking forward to his son being raised at Middleham and following his father... :(

A super big event, Coral: a three-day festival around the anniversary of his coronation. They have held these before now, but not for several years. Here is a link -

http://www.middlehamkeycentre.co.uk/richard-iii-weekend-6-7-july.php

- and this is the link to the Facebook page for the events -

Hundreds of people there today, and last night apparently. Philippa Langley is speaking at the Key Centre this evening, and more events tomorrow as well. And Middleham Town Council have every intention of running it every year, I think.

Have dead-headed the white roses, harvested the strawberries and raised a glass. Next week in Leicester... Priory of Holy Cross and Father Fabyian. Interesting that even our guy playing Richard feels his presence - we should be glad of that and that something from the present drama could yet be retrieved.  Many people who act/write about Richard feel his presence - Freda Warrington said that too.
