Re sternum: I also noticed Richards sternum was missing. Part of the sternum is firm cartilage which would disintegrate most likely after 500 years. Also, since he was placed face down over the back of a horse and carried for some distance into Leister, possibly the ribs were crushed, and that part of the body didn't make it to Greyfriars after more abuse and exposure for 2-3 days.
