Leicester 2014

Is there anyone from the states as anxious as I am to attend the service in Leicester in the spring? I am already planning to go, whether I can get into the service or not.

In the thirty plus years I have been reading Ricardian literature, I never dreamed that we would be such a fortunate generation! We have seen archealogy prove both burial and battle locations, when even the immediate generations could not.

In April 2012, I went to the trienniel meeting in Leicester. I asked the others for interesting things to see: the bridge, the statue, the church and 'the carpark'. I took pictures of the carpark, and stood over the place of the burial while I talked to the ticket taker. I have pictures in the Leicester Cathedral, and the plaque we (as the Society) have already placed there. Thank you Marion et al! If you hadn't encouraged me....

I'm also looking for folks from the Philadelphia area...

But thanks be to God for those with dreams and for those who believe in long shots.

My tradition doesn't pray for souls, but in church this morning I prayed for Richard Plantagenant, the late king.

God bless,

Maggie

I would love to go, but March is a really quick turn around for me. My hope is a late Spring or Early Autumn pilgrimage, which I would love to make. Sure Uni Leicester is going to capitalize on this and invite Ricardians over for gatherings! I have degrees from three different schools and they are all asking for money, all the time! I am certain I am not alone in this.......

I ask just to be sure, but there isn't a set date already for the service, is there? I'd love to participate too, but coming from Italy needs a little preparation as well...

Cecilia

No date yet.  I believe it has to be before August 2014.  I'm sure we'll get plenty of notice.

Ah, I thought as much. I expect there will be some kind of official invitation for Society members - or at least a group trip organised by the Society, as they usually do for other events.

Thanks,

Cecilia
