I've just heard from Annette Carson, who sounds exhausted from the amount of work she's had to put in despite opting out of the documentary, for example getting out the media release on the designs for Richard's tomb and rushing to prepare the revised edition of "Maligned King" because the present edition is out of stock. Those of you who were unhappy with the small print will be happy to know that the History Press is increasing the font size. They will also be producing "a special limited edition commemorative hardback edition of 100 copies, details and price to be confirmed." She also says that the UK Scoliosis Association "has sent letters of complaint about the horrid insensitive language used in the documentary." In other words, we're not alone in our reaction to the careless and inaccurate use of the word "hunchback" in the documentary. (I told her that some forum members have started calling Jo Appleby "Oops" Appleby. I hope she's amused.) She seems tired and somewhat disillusioned though she's glad that she decided to have nothing more to do with the documentary. I hope that those of you who attend the March 2 conference will tell her how much we miss her and provide some moral support.
