David Judd
I have been researching my ancestry for approximately 35 years for the surname Judd(e) and have so far traced the family back to the outskirts of Birmingham circa 1460 when the family appear in the Knowle Guild for St Anne. My direct ancestor I believe to be a Rowland Judd but I also have references to a Roger, Johes, Thomas and William Judd in Warwickshire. I have also come across and written about a John Judde, Merchant of London and Master of the Kings Ordnance during the Wars of the Roses, he was a Lancastrian and served the King, sadly he was murdered by Yorkists at St Albans in the summer of 1460. Details of John Judde can be found on the ICMA web page of Reading University under Soldier Profiles. I am very interested to hear and learn more on this period of history and if anyone has any Reference material which would assist me further with my family history quest I would appreciate hearing from you.
