Re: Catalogue illustrations: Calling all Women of a Certain Age&..in the "Looking at his Images" section at the bottom of the page for the Catalogue of his exhibit&.The central image on this page apparently of his wax image in the Friargate Wax Museum in York, well I'm my opinion that is a very handsome man! Kind of like what I would imagine he actually looked like, and a very intelligent, basically thoughtful, learned man, unique and remarkable for his time. Full of potential, and I feel, showing all the good traits we ascribe to him. Ladies, check it out! Carol D.

Friargate museum shut down many years ago but the wax figure found a new home in the Richard III museum in Monkbar, York.

Conversely, I've just been flicking through the catalogue of the 1977
exhibition and came across a letter from Oxford University to Lord Stanley
saying "We had with us your brother, not indeed another Aristotle or
Augustine, but endowed with great virtues and a strong defender of the
faith" which I take to mean "... your brother, who is so notoriously thick
that even when we're being sycophantic we can't pretend he isn't thick ..."
