I was talking about the Plaidy book. I have a few copies of it. It was 1st published in '82, around the time I 'found' Richard. I have a few of Penman's Sunne books as well. Comes from being a librarian I reckon.

Carol responds:
Is it (the Plaidy book) worth reading? By which I mean well researched, well written, and reasonably fair toward Richard (assuming that it deals with him at all)?

Okay, I am sort of restored to good humor!!
Had to chime in on this. I bought this one second hand from a amazon and after about 30 pages have given up.
Very sympathetic to Richard though. But the writing is stilted and the the characters are one sided. It's so plodding that i decided to reread by other Ricardian fictions rather than make myself go through with this one. I am not going to peruse it unless I am absolutely starving for some/ any Richard!!
But I liked Reluctant Queen by Pilady.
