This morning I decided to introduce my sixth form in a different way
to the problems with Ricardian/Tudor sources. I have summmarised the
3 kings, E4, R3 and H7, in the standard ways (2 lines) and then
given 3 primary sources, each describing one. They have to match
them up. Sine I chose very carefully my sources bear no resemblance
to the potted descriptions given of each. I am hoping this will get
the message home quickly whilst at the same time giving them their
first real taste of Richard's superior qualities. I was curious to
kow if this was your exercise, what sources would you give?
(I have Croyland describing Edward's venality, Vergil on Henry's
unpopularity, and a Scots envoy whose name escapes me right now on
how wonderful Richard is! LOL)
