Changing Subject Heading
2013-03-07 11:09:57
Please can I ask that when a thread drifts off its original subject, people change the subject heading. There are threads active at the moment which bear little relationship to the matters being discussed. It is really time-consuming having to open each one only to find it is about something entirely different!

Fiction about Richard
2013-03-07 15:25:42
I have just finished 'The Court of the Midnight King' by Freda Warrington. Has anyone else read it? What did you think of it?

I have. If you can go that extra mile I think it is quite brilliant, because for one thing it ends on a high, which is difficult with a Ricardian novel. Definitely not one for the purists but Freda, from Leicester, wanted to pay her tribute to Richard in her way. As one reviewer, in the US I think, said, the authors who 'love' Richard shine - Jarman, Edwards, Warrington.

I sort of lost track a little in the middle, I think I need to read it again. As you say, an unexpected high at the end.

voting for Richard's tomb - please vote
2013-03-07 21:19:49
Hi
Further to my earlier post on voting for Richard's tomb. Please vote if
you haven't done so already, its is really very important. This Poll is
the only way we can let 'everyone' see how important it is for us that
our Good King Richard is re-buried in a tomb fit for a king not a just
under a slab in the floor. We need to get the figures up to 80% or more
for our voices to be really heard.
Here is the link & instructions once more
http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/people/Leicester%20Mercury/profile.
html#axzz2MkP46XVQ
On the home page, please type Richard III Tomb Design in the search box
at the top and you should be able to click onto the poll from there.
Many thanks
Jac

I still think it's just linkbait for the Leicester site. I don't think anyone in officialdom is going to pay attention to it.

**** This is the only way we have to indicate public support for the
tomb. Philippa is very keen that every one possible should vote as there
is opposition to having a tomb from several quarters. If the percentage
reaches 80% again this can be used to support our cause which is a tomb
fit for a king!
cheers

Carol responds:
Hi, Jacqui. Who would oppose his having a tomb not paid for by taxpayers? I thought the only question (aside from York versus Leicester) was whether it should be this design or some other, as yet unproposed, design.

Does anyone know if the Remains would be housed in the 'Chest Tomb' or Beneath it?

Yes you can vote, it's only a newspaper thing.
I have to confess I voted twice - once at work and once on my home computer.

The Proposed Table Tomb:
Will the Remains be in a Coffin 'Inside the Tomb' or Buried Beneath Same.?
Whilst it would Only be in the Most 'Extraordinary' Circumstances a major advance in Science might warrant a further examination.
I would not want this but in say 100 Years + who knows?
Hopefully R.I.P. Richard.
Kind Regards,
Arthur.
