The "only" book to feature the Leicester dig(!)
The "only" book to feature the Leicester dig(!)
2013-03-09 21:50:06
While I was on Amazon.com to link to Anne Sutton's book on the coronation of R III, I encountered this amazing announcement:
"Exclusive! Richard III from Amberley Publishing
"AMBERLEY is delighted to be the publisher of THE ONLY book to feature the results of the Leicester car park dig.
"Richard III by David Baldwin includes an extra chapter on the amazing discovery and identification of Richard III's bones. It is available now for the exclusive price of £6.49.
"PHILIPPA GREGORY comments, the book reveals 'A believably complex Richard, neither wholly villain, nor hero.'"
http://www.amberleybooks.com/
The "only" book with such a chapter. I wonder how Annette Carson and J A-H will react to that. And Philippa Gregory's objective and authoritative endorsement. How impressive. (Sarcasm alert.)
I hope that David Baldwin himself had nothing to do with the marketing of his book!

Phillips Gregory has Richard sleeping with Elizabeth of York in her latest book. And if she weighs in, I would want to scream!

She can have her unearned money and her cheap fame. And we will have to settle for being right.

If you mean "The Kingmaker's Daughter", I just read it a couple of months ago and he's only pretending to have an affair with her to turn Tudor off the idea of marrying her. At least that's what he tells his wife.
But the end notes mention Gregory's next work, which is about Elizabeth of York and her "secret lover" Richard III, so perhaps in this next book they are actually doing the deed.
What's frightening is that the woman has a degree in history so people will believe this tripe.

Angie, yes that's the book I am talking about! White Princess. That's what the blurb says...... PG has a thing about incest! She had Anne Boleyn sleep with George Boleyn...... And to my sins I know I will read the WP too. Just to hiss and rage:(

It is outrageous indeed, especially is she styles the book as HISTORY and not FICTION!
