Riot, December 1485

15 Dec 1485 there was a riot in Henry Tudor's presence in
the "Parliament Chamber" (St Stephen's chapel?) involving c 80
people. They were accused of trying to destroy the king and council,
and 6 ringleaders were arrested. They were not attainted but they
were declared felons and their goods forfeited and apparently
without trial sentenced to execution. It seems some had right of
benefit of clergy which was also ignored.
Does anyone have any further info on this incident such as who the
alleged offenders were and what the reason was? The above is a
summary of Williamson's reference to Woodhouse's summary from his
biography of Morton. It may not be entirely accurate, and as I would
like to use it i Thursday's lesson (only having discovered it
today!) I would appreciate any more info if anyone has any!
