On Tuesday 12 March (today) there was an Adjournment debate*, held in Westminster Hall, at 11 am. Following discussion about the reburial of Richard III in the Commons on 7 March and the concerns of Hugh Bayley (MP for York Central) it was agreed that the debate should take place regarding the terms of the Exhumation Licence granted to the University of Leicester Archaeological Department.
This debate can be viewed here: http://www.parliamentlive.tv/main/Player.aspx?meetingId=12784
The relevant debate starts at the 1:30:20 mark on the timeline below the video. It is approximately 30 minutes long. Hugh Bayley proposes that the decision on where to bury King Richard is a decision to be made by the government, and not the academics from Leicester. It's interesting to watch politicians struggle with history!
