LOL, Why did those medievals leave all their dead under all of our car parks? maybe all the car parks in the land should be dug up, who knows what we'll find!

In San Antonio, I have heard tourists say it is really great that they built the Alamo right in the middle of town. Of course our Colonial Missions were built by the Franciscans and Native Americans in the early 1700's, and there was no town.
Some folks just cannot be bothered to check, read or learn.....they just assume.

Pam, there was someone on one website who said the Greyfriars was in ruins because it had been bombed by H8! What would we do without them all to provide us with a bit of amusement.

Oh my, now that is a good one......one of my favorite fantasies is Henry VIII, the elder, fatter, and with gout, playing tennis. I can hear him say "off with his head" when some whizz kid hits an ace serve, right next to his tender toe!

Carol responds:

Completely OT, but that historically challenged person reminds me of a geographically challenged American of my acquaintance, in his late twenties at the time, who wondered why George Bush didn't just "drive down to Afghanistan" (presumably somewhere in South America) and bomb them! Rather like Shakespeare giving Bohemia a seacoast only worse.
