Dear Philippa,

I am Welsh and so batting for the wrong side BUT you have my admiration. Well done! Don't let them grind you down at this stage. As an ex-journalist who worked at Leicester Uni drawing Roman pots in the 1970s I have some idea of that department works. If you must, break all ties with it. They have had 528 years to sort this out and Richard III's peace comes first.

You have already worked wonders. I'm a Philippa too, my father was a clergyman and so were my maternal and paternal grandparents and having studied R.III for the past 13 years I know that you are right. Take heart. I've written to A.B. Rowan Williams just today to say he must do something and I'll bombast the Church if I have too. Hold out and don't let the Church Commissioners intimidate you.

Richard III must be buried properly, Leicester backing down like this was obviously going to happen but I'm glad they have now, he is not to be put on show again by a city whose only relation to him is his death. He must be buried with a full and proper funeral, the blessing of the Church in a place suitable for the son of Princes. York is obviously his wish! If not Fortheringhay with his family. BUT please hold out Philippa. This was bound to happen. You are a trooper. As you have said he wanted to be found now and you have! You have more supporters than you can possibly imagine. The detractors are simply idiots! I symapathise with you so much. The criticism hurts I know. If I can help in anyway I will.

Bless you. Philippa. (Binnie, my strange nickname!)
