Another poll
Another poll

The Independent has a poll (possibly tongue in cheek) on where "the crooked backed" Richard III should be buried.
http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/iv-drip/poll-where-should-richard-iii-be-interred-8540656.html
The options are Leicester, York, Gloucester, Durham (which has evidently put in a bid), and (ugh) another car park.
I wasn't sure whether to vote or not but because I'm irritated with all parties right now, including the Independent, I voted for Gloucester. At least they haven't rejected or insulted him.

I just voted, and York is way ahead..... I love all the information in this morning's posts, from everyone. There is a lot of information and it is much appreciated.

I thought about voting but decided against it. I don't want to favour *any* site at the moment. I just want everyone to sit down together, talk through the issues and accept that it's about more than regionalism and tourism. I don't think anyone's particularly grasped that yet, what with Leicester's planned museum being countered by York's Richard-fest.
I see the BBC's 'Question Time' is being broadcast from York tomorrow. What are the odds on the subject being (a) raised and (b) treated as more than the end-of-programme novelty question?

Thanks for the link. Regardless of your feeling about where Richard is
re-buried, I do think it's important to vote, so that the powers that be
can judge the level of interest in getting this right.

Having read the Independent poll like some of you it seems to ask where the "crooked backed Richard III" is to be buried.
People I've been talking to don't understand who the paper's talking about, and I have to say I agree. We know they've just found King Richard III [who had scoliosis which isn't crooked backed but one shoulder higher than the other, sometimes.....]. Is there another Richard III somewhere we haven't heard about? France maybe? I know there was a Norman Duke Richard III, could they possibley have discovered him? Perhaps we should clarify it with them before we vote? I shall be asking Mark Omrod a similar question about his 'hunchback walking with a stoop' description in History Magazine. H.
