Oh, that is a lovely piece.....and I wouldn't mind trying to keep it on my old head! I shifted from that to some of Elizabeth II's crowns, and oh my, she must have a Stong neck to hold up some of those big crowns.

I recall reading that she had to practicve a lot before the coronation,
and - did I dream this,m or did I read soemwhere that she still wears the
crown at home to get into practice before state occasions, and can be seen
in crown, dressing gown and bedroom slippers?
Richard's battle crown would have been a lot easier to wear I think: apart
from being lighter, the weight would ahve been translated down through his
armour and onto his shoulders, instead of all being borne by his head and
neck.
